"Children from our village never went to school before World Vision India stepped in, but now almost everyone attends school," says Ruli’s mother Geeta. Ruli lives in a remote place in Uttar Pradesh. She wants to become a doctor when she grows up so that she can provide free treatment for those who cannot afford it.
People living with HIV, activists and civil society called for the government to “Table the HIV bill.” They urged the Government to pass the HIV bill in the next session of the Parliament, which begins on February 5th, 2014.
"World Vision gave our school desks and benches. They helped us. Now it’s our duty to study hard," says Vibha Kumari. To create child friendly spaces for vulnerable children from the Patna Child Restoration Project, World Vision India provided furniture to local government schools. This gives children a comfortable classroom to study and encourages them to attend school regularly.
